Changes from canon, if AU: Some of the more obvious changes would occur in Seira's appearance, a few relationships and the way she handles certain situations. The word of Final Fantasy VIII and the genders of other characters remains the same; Sorceresses are always female and their Knights have (when in existence) traditionally been male due to the usual nature of the relationship.

There wouldn't be much of a change in the way Seira was raised; a Garden student was taught the same things regardless of gender. Though the road to becoming a gunblade specialist was a bit harder to travel down, it seems to be a traditionally male weapon the same as the role of a Knight being traditionally male.

Instead of dating Rinoa for a summer they were, instead, decidedly normal friends. They chatted over boys, went shopping and Seira had a chance to be something other than just a mercenary in training.

Personality: Seira is a very straightforward person, if she thinks something needs saying or doing then by Hyne she will say and do just that and damn the consequences. She is stubborn and unapologetic, if you don't like her she's not going to bend over backwards to please people. There are often issues between authority figures and her, she thinks her way is the best way to do something and is often too impatient and reckless to wait for someone else to take charge of a situation. She's quick to make judgements about people and situations, and it is difficult at times to shake a first impression.

Beneath the abrasive and often unpredictable side of Seira is a very loyal and rather caring young woman. She holds a high respect for her fellow mercenaries and soldiers, regardless of their background or gender. She firmly believes that to hold back in a fight is one of the greatest insults to give somebody whether it be physical or philosophical in nature . She will do anything in her power to help people, even if it's often a very harsh sort of 'tough love' that comes off more like bullying than actually helping; just because she's trying to knock someone on their ass doesn't mean she won't bring them to the infirmary while they're unconscious or offer advice and someone to complain to when it's needed.

Seira takes pride in her appearance, if she can look good kicking ass and taking names then by Hyne she will. She dresses well and takes care of her clothing with the same meticulous nature she usually reserves for Hyperion, after all a Knight had best look the part no matter what the situation. She has a habit of adopting pieces of the appearance of others in to her own, especially if she deems them worthy of such reverence. Such things include allowing a wound to scar over that was received in a fight against a skilled opponent, or adopting the battle stance of a character in a film she wishes to emulate in her own life. She places a good deal of symbolism in to things, having adopted a crimson sword as her own and even going so far as to having it tattooed on to each arm.

The dream of becoming a Sorceress Knight has little to do with the conventional romance of it, Seira had little love for Ultimecia. The connection between the two being not in a 'dating' or 'lovers' relationship but based in the fact that Riona is Ultimecia's rival. With Seira as Squall's rival, the destiny of Squall to be Riona's Knight in turn gave Sera the destiny to become Ultimecia's. The 'romantic' dream she speaks of reffers to traditional romaticism as a dream to revive and renew old traditions. Such as the old-fashioned and difficult to master gunblade or the adoption of a personal symbol. Traditional Romanticism also puts an emphasis on following one's intuition and feelings as well as the use of imagination. It is, at it's core a rebellion against purely logical thinking and tactics.

Despite outward appearances of fierce confidence, Seira does have her insecurities and knows that there are some things she will probably never have no matter how much she wants them. There's decidedly few people she sees as ever being genuinely interested in dating her, when you're constantly besting people in physical confrontations and considered a bit frightening and she'd rather keep her friendships with Fujin and Raijin as they are without complicating them with romantic affections. She's also convinced that Squall is about as asexual as they come, despite the attention he's given from a number of ladies and probably some guys. This rather jaded view of things fuels the dark sides of Sera's personality and leaves her open for manipulation, which Ultimecia took full advantage of and twisted to string the young woman along as a puppet.

Abilities: Seira is a recognized and skilled fighter and tactician, her impulsive and headstrong nature being the only thing that's kept her from becoming a SeeD. She uses agility and flexibility over brute strength; wielding a lighter gunblade with one hand as opposed to a heavier two-handed model.

She is also capable of using chi-based magic, most notably to cast fire in fights. This is different from the majority of characters in that they usually require a Guardian Force (GF) to be junctioned in order to utilize magic (Sorceresses being exempt from this as well).
